For a business school that didn’t even exist when the pandemic hit our world, the Swiss School of Business Research has sure come a long way. In July 2022, the school graduated its first batch of doctoral students, all of them accomplished business professionals in their own fields, and the high quality of their individual dissertations were an eye-opener for many in the educational field.
SSBR was awarded the coveted eduQua certification for quality standards in education in 2020. Accreditation from ASIC (Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges & Universities) of the United Kingdom followed after 2 years of operation, and now a prominent European university approved by their Ministry of Education has waded in, opting to recognise the value of an SSBR PhD degree by matching it with their own PhD, resulting in SSBR now offering a University-backed Dual PhD degree. Not only does this further cement the value of an SSBR PhD throughout Europe, it also gives students the opportunity to gain a degree that is recognised in North America, in particular the United States, through the university’s accreditation with the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
ACBSP is a premium U.S. organization based in Kansas City, Missouri, with 1200 member campuses in 60 countries, that awards accreditation to business programs internationally if they qualify under the excellence standards specified for US higher education set by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). ACBSP in turn is recognised by CHEA and tasked with ensuring all business programmes it accredits meet those high standards.
All of which is further proof that SSBR doctoral graduates will receive a degree, awarded on the basis of high-quality, original student-driven research, that is not only meeting European, but American standards for higher adult education.
And we’re only getting started…
